Managed a team of 10 Family support workers and lead on informal parenting/community engagement. Working for a Welsh Government Early Years programme for families with children under 4 years of age in some of the most disadvantaged areas of Wales

Identifying and supporting children and families within their home environment who are experiencing difficulties at an early stage, assisting in the monitoring and evaluation of services to ensure that the needs of the children and themselves are met.Assessing family situations and plan, deliver and review individual programmes of support; ensuring that children and especially families, are prioritised in terms of receipt of services.Performing the Schedule of Growing Skills assessment on children aged 2 and 3 years, to gauge their development. Signpost and assist children and families to gain access to specialist services when required.Liaising, communicating and work collaboratively with other agencies, to ensure that appropriate resources are identified for the benefit of the children and their familiesPlan, deliver and review group work programmes for children and their parentsBeing aware of, and comply with statutory requirements, departmental policies, other regulations and procedures in order to ensure statutory and departmental requirements are met.Outside of my job specification I also have sole responsibility for completing heath and safety checks within the office

My responsibilities within the nursery included:Being Key worker of 11 children aged between 18 months and 2 years.Establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with parents. Involvement with weekly planning for the room.Total responsibility for completing the monthly invoices.Liaising with the nursery manager to recommend and implement new measures of current practices such as Flying Start.Responsibility for developing and updating important documents including the parental pack and others.Alongside my role as a nursery nurse I was also the nursery’s ANCO officer. My role included:Working in partnership with outside agencies.Working in partnership with parents and the nursery’s practitioners.Promoting inclusion as well as other core policies.Observing children and completing written observations.Coordinating and chairing regular monthly meetings with senior members of staff to discuss any issues raised, as well as the continuing progress of the children.Presenting an Individual Education Plan for any child with special educational needs.Putting together activities to encourage the child’s development.
