About Emma Balcombe
I've been teaching English in Barcelona for the last 6 years, but have recently moved back to the UK, to Sheffield. It's a strange time to be making big life changes, but I'm excited to see what the future holds. I would love to take everything that I've learnt from teaching into a new role, may that be in education or another area that I feel passionate about. After graduating in Psychology at the University of Manchester I spent 6 months backpacking around South America, teaching and volunteering on some amazing community projects along the way. On returning to Manchester, I tried my hand as a letting agent, which eventually lead me into a sales administrator role at Plumlife, part of Great Places housing association. It was an excellent place to work, but my partner and I had dreams of living abroad for a couple of years and teaching English. So, we both did the CELTA and moved to Barcelona.Through highs and lows, the last 6 years have been an amazing journey. I've worked at 2 fantastic academies, alongside talented people and have gained so much experience and knowledge along the way.My vision for the future isn't quite crystal clear, but I hope that I will continue to work to help people, communities and benefit society as a whole. I would love to work in a fulfilling and challenging role for an employer with it's heart in the right place.
Listed skills include Teamwork, Event Management, Marketing Communications, Environmental Awareness, and 46 others.
