Self-Healing Communities is a community change model rooted in an understanding of the neuroscience of trauma, healing, and human resilience. This coalition seeks to teach the greater Michiana community to care for themselves and each other in a way that prioritizes care for the nervous system. NEAR-P stands for neuroscience, epigenetics, adverse childhood experiences, resilience, and positive childhood experiences.-Co-developed parental resources in the community to educate children on neuroscience-based care.-Attended and assessed the efficacy of a trauma-informed care workshop in South Bend.

-Assesses the qualitative content of self-regulation activities used to analyze emotion regulation in youth who have experienced maltreatment-Researches the risk and protective factors associated with mental health of youth among families of Mexican origin

-Teach literacy and math to K-12 students, some with learning disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorder-Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in dealing with young students and ability to adapt to individual learning needs

-Assesses the efficacy of pharmacogenomic testing in aiding complex students as they and their families navigate one or more neurodevelopmental disorders, psychiatric disorders, and/or learning differences

-Assisted teachers in the music and drama departments in an inner-city comprehensive high school-Aided in the production of Bugsy Malone, the first musical held by SJBC-Held literacy tutoring sessions for 7th graders who were in the bottom 25% of their class

ACT Prep Tutoring for high schoolers and Literacy/Math Tutoring for grade schoolers.

-Supervised, taught, and supported adults with a range of intellectual disabilities-Substituted in classrooms with 10-15 individuals to promote lifelong learning and health and wellness-Assisted in recreation and other school program activities

Served as founder, Chief Editor, and writer of an online publication designed to empower young women to pursue happy and fulfilling lives.
