Employment Law specialistUpon qualification in September 2009, and following 2 seats in the employment department as a Trainee Solicitor, I undertook a varied caseload for public sector employers, charities and both large and small private companies and gained particular experience carrying out work for clients in the air travel, care and transport sectors. I undertook a wide variety of pro-bono work whilst at Prettys, including attending fortnightly employment law clinics at Chelmsford CAB.

During my time at the Council, I had responsibility for 50 personal injury / public liability / employer liability files. The type of work carried out included interviewing Council employees, following accidents on Council property, and reporting to loss adjusters on liability, drafting defences, witness statements, cost schedule and other litigation documentation, negotiating settlement with Claimant’s solicitors and attending and representing the Council at infant settlement hearings;

I was a full time fee earner at Eversheds with responsibility for 70 employer / public liability case load for defendant companies. The work carried out included drafting witness statements, investigating liability, advising clients regarding prospects of success and negotiating quantum settlement with Claimant solicitors.
