As a volunteer with the MIP I research legal issues, assess cases and draft memos, and screen potential clients and make recommendations about client retention.

In this position I worked as an administrative assistant at the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. I oversaw front desk operations as part of a five person team, including organizing advisors’ calendars and assisting students with problem solving, I executed and organized a scanning project to facilitate the transfer of student documents, and I provided administrative support following KU policies and procedures regarding organization, filing, and protection of sensitive student information.

As a volunteer with the Colorado Springs Office of the Public Defender I aided public defenders during court proceedings, read discovery with clients, interviewed clients, and provided clerical support.
