Perform outreach efforts to over 300 military veterans and family members. Academically advise students using the CUNYFirst system, assist with financial aid applications and military benefit claim form completion. Formed relationships with numerous campus offices, enabling advocacy on student’s behalf around financial and academic issues. Organized and coordinated campus event with multiple offices designed to introduce all veteran students to available campus services. Planned and facilitate weekly support group meeting for student veterans to aid in transition from military to civilian life. Individually counsel numerous students on issues related to academic and personal concerns, including family dynamics and motivation.

Advised approximately 65 first generation, low-income college students one-on-one towards graduation through academic, social, financial, and career challenges. Advocated with and on behalf of students at college offices including Financial Aid, Admissions, Residential Life, Registrar, and Academic Support Centers. Developed curriculum and led events for over 200 students to aid in their transition from high school to college; teaching new skills and clarifying expectations. Wrote workshop curriculum and organized event for student career exploration for over 150 students and volunteer mentors

Counseled 40-45 high school seniors through the entire college application process, including list making, college research, essays, applications (CUNY, SUNY, Common Application), financial aid (FAFSA, TAP, CSS Profile), and college decisions. Advocated to schools on behalf of students, primarily with EOP and HEOP to ensure correctly completed applications. Guided 25 college students towards college success and graduation through bi-weekly phone calls and monthly campus visits, focusing on four main areas of support: academic degree, employability, financial aid, and life skills
