I am responsible for leading the organisation to deliver on its strategic ambitions, ensuring effective and responsible management of resources and finances and promoting the sustainability of the organisation. I oversee all areas of operations and am the budget holder for the organisation. I provide pastoral and professional support to almost 1000 elected representatives, two elected sabbatical officers and a small full-time staff team. Since July 2018 I have been a Quality Assurance Reviewer in the peer review process, led by the Office for Students. In this role I sit as a panellist on Quality and Standards Reviews across Higher Education providers in the UK, as well as reviewing applications for Degree Awarding Powers.

I have worked with the QAA for a number of years in various roles. The first of these was as a member of the Student Strategic Advisory Panel, offering insight and constructive advice on upcoming changes to national education policy and guidance, as well as assisting in the writing of the new and updated Quality Code.

In November 2017 I was recruited as a Social Sciences panellist for the first year of the Teaching Excellence [and Student Outcomes] Framework subject level pilot.

In January 2016 I founded SignBright BSL: a Community Interest Company which teaches British Sign Language and Deaf Awareness within the community. I offer courses and workshops at a reasonable price to allow people to access the basics of the language and communicate with those who use BSL as their primary language. I have worked with a range of organisations, individuals and groups, with many of my students going on to pass their BSL Level 1 and Level 2 exams with Signature. Organisations I have worked with to date: Diverse Cymru, Jigso Wales, St John Ambulance, Aberystwyth University and Aberystwyth Students' Union, Bangor University, Birmingham City Council, Chivenor Primary School, Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls, Newman Students' Union, De Montfort Students' Union, Coleshill Heath Primary School, The University of Law. 6 month term as a live-in Houseparent within a boarding school for training professional dancers. I worked within the sixth form boarding house with 16-19 year olds providing pastoral support. I left this role to have my daughter in December 2019.

Managing the Student Advice Clinic and the Course Representation System, event planning (including large scale awards evenings and fundraisers), welfare of students, overseeing student societies, secretarial work, writing charity policy, and conflict management between students and university staff. I also created the Skills Development Programme, which enabled students to gain skills and qualifications that they may not have received through their normal courses; including First Aid, BSL, Safeguarding qualifications, Excel training, etc.
