Undergraduate Research Assistant
Stockholm, Stockholm County, Sweden
During my year abroad at Karolinska Institutet, I had the opportunity to work as an undergraduate research assistant in Professor Qiang Pan-Hammarstöm's B-cell research laboratory. I dedicated a full academic year to the development of an unbiased lentiviral overexpression screen focused on the transcription factor network that governs B cell class-switch recombination (CSR). My responsibilities encompassed a range of techniques, including viral transduction, primary cell culture, and flow cytometry analysis. Through this internship, I not only gained hands-on experience in the laboratory but also developed a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in B cell class-switch recombination. I had the privilege of collaborating with and being mentored by a talented team of researchers in an environment that fostered innovation and critical thinking that significantly enhanced my abilities to conduct scientific research.
