I am an ESRC funded 1+3 PhD candidate on the White Rose Doctoral Training programme researching democratic processes in multiplayer online role-playing games. I am also the co-host of the Leveller podcast! My work involves both quantitative and qualitative methods, primarily focussing on ethnographic work during my PhD. Broadly, my expertise spans Politics and International Relations with a specific focus on democracy, public engagement and online third places. I currently also support the administration of the International Parliament Engagement Network (IPEN) and work with them on resource development. Additionally, I am passionate about voluntary work and volunteered for Samaritans for six years, a deeply fulfilling role. Currently, I am volunteering with Leeds North and West Foodbank to support those in food poverty.Always happy to answer questions (if I can!) or have a chat about all things engagement and video games!Contact: pt19elb@leeds.ac.uk
