Responsible for delivery of the Woodland Trust’s three largest, national woodland creation grant schemes for landowners. These grants provided bespoke levels of funding, advice and procurement support for landowners across up to 1,000 sites annually. Project management included all aspects from budget and risk management, to resourcing, ensuring adherence to statutory regulations, training, framework contract tender, award, and management, and line management of a team of Project Officers.During my time in role I delivered a doubling of the number of sites and trees planted through these grants. Initiated and oversaw the design, development and successful introduction of new digital systems to significantly save time and allow for increased efficiency and capacity within the team. Initiated and introduced a national framework contract for contractors undertaking the works to reduce risk and increase value for money. And undertook regular reviews both internally and externally to identify and implement improvements.

Programme managing the Woodland Trust’s urban project - a strategic plan to increase the impact of the charity's reach within urban environments by developing new workstreams and re-focusing existing workstreams towards urban trees. Project managed projects such as a campaign with the Greater London Authority to enable thousands of Londoners to plant a tree, and engaging the public with the urban woodlands within the WT's estate. Liaised with a large number of stakeholders across the organisation to raise the profile of our urban work, and developed relationships with many partner organisations to expand the reach.

Responsible for developing the detail behind a new cross-departmental strategy for the Woodland Trust, focussing on increasing awareness of trees in urban areas. Ran internal workshops and liaised with external partner organisations to identify opportunities for new projects or re-focusing of existing workstreams to efficiently increase the Woodland Trust’s reach into urban environments. Successfully took the project through the project management gateways to sign off of a strategic plan and an action plan.

Organising the successful delivery of the Woodland Trust’s tree planting grants to landowners, community groups, and schools by liaising with stakeholders and suppliers alike. Developing excellent communication with customers and clients, as well as identifying and supporting the introduction of efficiencies to the process.
