Working alongside the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor of the Journal of American Folklore as the Editorial Assistant, I support JAF's editorial team in managing the flow of submissions and editing processes. Additionally, I oversee the JAF Editor's email account, communicate and coordinate with authors to manage timely revision processes and the submission of required forms for publication, and maintain file system organization.

Supported the National Community Health system of Liberia through capacity building of health supervisors, improving knowledge on data collection and analysis, and strengthening health outreach for pregnant and new mothers. Piloted the Health Program sector for Peace Corps Liberia after the 2016 ebola outbreak.

Case management and health advocacy for refugees living in the Atlanta area. This involved breaking down common barriers to health access that some refugees face, such as language barriers, navigating Grady Hospital's healthcare system, and advocating for equal care.

Completed 9 weeks of intensive training covering culture, language (Chichewa), and technical health information (specifically HIV/AIDS, malaria, water and sanitation, and nutrition) before moving to a rural village and working with community partners to design and implement community empowering programs based on the needs in the area. I also trained incoming Peace Corps Volunteers on this program when they were arriving in Malawi.

In charge of/responsible for a group (8-16 in number) of children between the ages of 5-13.Organized group games or stations for homework/sitting games during gym and outside time.Provided feedback to parents on their child's behavior at afterschool upon pick up. Responsible for setting up and breaking down gym and cafeteria.

Coordinated 6 pottery/ceramics classes a day consisting of kids aged 6-16.Taught kids to work on pottery wheel and also to hand-build clay sculptures.Organized process and storage space for all of the work created daily. In charge of preparing, firing, and finishing daily kiln firings. Responsible for clean up and set up of workspace each day.Organized kids' work for pick up.

3 weeks each summer.Co-organized and led all evening recreation activities for 200-350 campers with two other directors. In charge of a group of 20-30 campers, leading them on rural trail runs and through track workout sessions. Once a week, taught a class on sports nutrition to interested campers.

Outside of Undergraduate studies, I was an NCAA Division 1, Student-Athlete competing in three sports each year: Cross Country (August-November), Indoor Track (December-February), and Outdoor Track (March-April/May). Not only was I training year-round, but we also competed in races across North Carolina and the Southeast at least two weekends a month. We volunteered with local races whenever possible. I was also selected as the female representative for UNC-Asheville to attend an NCAA Athletics Leadership Conference my Sophomore Year. I received the Academic Excellence award multiple for our team multiple times throughout my five years competing at UNC-A. I set the school record in the 3,000m Steeplechase, won the Big South Conference gold in the 3K Steeplechase my 5th year, and just missed qualifying for NCAA Regionals (0.5 seconds) in my final season. I served as the girls team captain for multiple years.
