In addition to time management and data collection skills, I developed statistical analysis skills through working with data tools such as the U.S. Census Bureau's American FactFinder.From August-December 2017, I supported Professor Brian Collier in his research focusing on the history of American Indian Catholic education, primarily in the Southwest. For this position, time management and personal accountability are of utmost importance. Creativity and persistence are also necessary in the research process. I also curated newsletter content and designed and managed the mailing list. The internship allowed me an immersive experience in the intersecting worlds of community engagement, communications and marketing, and urban planning. I attended inner- and inter-departmental meetings as well as meetings with community partners. I interfaced with City Planning staff from every corner of the office, including policy and analysis, historic preservation, and community planningI am currently on the Advisory Board for CPI.
