The internship allowed me an immersive experience in the intersecting worlds of community engagement, communications and marketing, and urban planning. I attended inner- and inter-departmental meetings as well as meetings with community partners. As a tutor, I met with Notre Dame students once a week to help them in their study of Calculus. I aided the students with difficult homework problems, went over broader concepts from class, and helped them study for exams. I worked to inspire confidence in the students' mathematical and test-taking abilities and put in extra time to ensure that everyone felt ready for upcoming exams.

I worked at St. Rose of Lima Parish Rectory in the summer of 2015 as well as the summer of 2016. As the assistant to the Director of Religious Ed, I helped the director coordinate the Vacation Bible School program before it began as well as during the program, gaining valuable project management experience. I brainstormed creative and thrifty decoration ideas and also was responsible for coordinating the teen volunteers before and during the program.
