About Emma Canavan

I have a lot of experience in communication- this is with both my team and customers. I always aim to create a great working environment. I understand the processes of dealing with and sharing confidential and complex information, as I am often confided in by members of my team. I have excellent communication skills, working and contacting suppliers- for example organising food suppliers and deliveries and communicating via email with LCC for things like premises licences and pavement licenses for the business. As I worked my way up to manager from a team member I have the empathy and ability to recognise what is important to create a happy and successful workplace- I feel confident that I could develop a team to provide the best customer service to customers. I have a keen eye for detail and always ensure tasks are completed fully- I have passed many EHO visits to the business with flying colours- this requires a high level of accuracy. I have experience of using IT applications- for example I created table layouts on our till app and produce weekly roundups to record and evaluate targets. As with most hospitality management positions I have had to deal with customer complaints. I always aim to deal with these positively and provide the customer with a resolution to suit their needs. As well as working within a team I also have experience of working on my own- I studied at university and successfully managed my workload- consistently meeting deadlines and obtaining a first class degree.Experience of organising staff rotas on a weekly basis, this includes both back of house and front of house staff rosters, these are designed on Microsoft Excel and are well organised and easy to read. I have the ability to provide advice, guidance and training for staff members across all levels of the organisation. In my current role I am responsible for training all team members. We developed a full training programme in which we support the staff member throughout their training- this included developing an in-depth training programme booklet and is completed by both practical and theoretical methods.Ownership over the site email at work- responsible for responding in a timely and efficient manner. I have appointment scheduling knowledge on both teams and zoom which we use to have meetings with both the area manager and the owner of the business. My file management experience can be seen through the clear and organised Dropbox account at work and I have a wide knowledge of Microsoft packages that I have used extensively throughout working and studying.
