Experienced Artist, craftswoman and forest therapy guide with a demonstrated history of working with people of all ages to enable wellbeing through creative practice and Nature connection.Growing up on the west coast of Scotland Emma always had an affinity to wild places and woodland. Her love of design and making led her first to architecture in 1990 and then to art College for a degree in fine arts. The therapeutic effect of being in Nature and the process of creating have been fundamental to her wellbeing from an early age. This inspired her to offer creative workshops to children with special needs while at College and take trainings in Person-Centred expressive art therapy and counselling.She spent several years living off grid in Spain and France immersed in nature. Teaching drawing, leading workshops in expressive arts and exhibiting her paintings. In 2009 she settled in Devon with her daughter. She has worked for transition Town Totnes as an engagement activity provider and volunteered at the local preschool offering creative fun outdoors. She is a basket maker and restores rattan furniture. In 2013 she founded Creative Journeys, weaving her love of art and nature together to curate workshops and walks to connect adults and children with their innate creativity and nature. She loves to work with adults to bring out their curiosity and spontaneous creativity. To rekindle the natural wisdom and wonder of the child that lives within us all. Her training with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides in 2018 has refined her skills, brought together everything she had been offering, giving her practice a stronger framework and foundation with evidenced based research.Currently she facilitates retreats and workshops for a variety of organisations and individuals.As a skilled nature connection facilitator and creative she offers one to one coaching and mentoring for other nature connection practitioners who wish to discover how to bring their unique creativity to their practice and expand their skills. Advice and guidance on creating fantastic retreats and workshops that will flow effortlessly for the participants and you.
