Emma provides advice and manages complex claims in relation to public liability, product liability and professional indemnity matters as well as providing advice on indemnity and policy coverage issues. Her expertise in insurance law spans over 24 years. Emma specialises in advising insurers, underwriters and large self-insured corporations on a range of claims including complex multi-party construction and mining matters as well as retail, hospitality, leisure and claims against landlords and real estate agents. She has represented a number of insurers and self-insureds including QBE Insurance (Australia) Limited acting in both liability and professional indemnity matters, Newline Australia, AAI Limited, Allianz Australia Insurance Limited and Lexon Insurance. Emma has successfully defended the interests of insureds in a number of trials and also specialises in achieving short durations and certainty having regard to the business and commercial demands of her clients. This is achieved by working with her clients on special targeted projects aimed at finalisation of matters though alternate processes. Emma has been ranked in the peer-reviewed 'Best Lawyers' reports published annually by the Australian Financial Review since 2017 and was ranked as a leading public liability lawyer in Doyles Guide and as a recommended professional indemnity lawyer in Doyles Guide for Queensland.
