A little bit about me and my background:I graduated from the University of Dundee with a Second Class Honours degree (2:1) in Interior and Environmental Design in 2016. I have then moved on to gaining practical experience whilst working at Porcelanosa. From here I have gained experience with attending client meetings and taking briefs and budgets alongside BDM’s & retail sales advisors to develop schemes based on the information collected. From this information I would collate a presentation together with plans, tile selections, product selections and 3D visuals. I would also assist architects and installation teams with accurate elevations and dimensioned plans to make the installation process run smoothly.My portfolio shows a range of projects going from my time at University including my final year project (set design) to 3D built installations (Park(ing) Day) to real life project interiors. These projects, along with many more, show my range of skills in using multiple pieces of computer programs, model making and full scale construction. It also includes real life jobs from my time at Porcelanosa and through my internship with Urban NU, which includes high end bathrooms, shop design and home interior design.I have working knowledge in the following programs: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), SketchUp, AutoCAD, 3DS Max, DOMUS 3D and Microsoft Office. This is done through both in studio appointments and home visits. From these appointments, I create schemes to bring customers visions to life through using samples of wallpaper and fabrics. This helps the customers see the colours come together and envision what it would look like in their home. I work with products from companies such as Harlequin and Romo. Also during home visits, I help measure up windows and patio doors, to give customers the option of bespoke curtains and blinds, created especially for their home. These can be made in any of the selection of fabrics that we have in store and in any style, which suits the customer and their home. From this stage, after the style and fabric has been confirmed, I then put the sewing sheets together and send them alongside the fabric to the sewing room to be put together. The next stage, is to work along with our fitter, to schedule the fittings, and make the installation process run smoothly.
