Since obtaining my Bachelor of Nursing degree in 2015, I have been employed in the public health sector, working across multiple specialities through various positions within the hospital environment. In 2021 I commenced my position as a Public Health Officer with the Department of Health in the COVID-19 response. I have experience with genomic sequencing and epidemiology in my previous position as a Genomics Liaison, commenced in 2021. From there, I worked for Surgery Recovery and Reform within the Commissioning & System Improvements Division from April 2022 to March 2023, working as a Policy/Project Officer and an Acting Senior Policy Officer. From March 2023, I commented work as a Senior Policy Advisor for the Maternity and Newborn team within the Commissioning & System Improvements Division.Whilst working full-time I continued to study and successfully completed my Masters of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Melbourne in 2021. I completed a summer school in Pathogen Genomics and Global Health by NSW Health, completed in Feb 2022.
