I take an active role in the development of our diagnostics products tailored to customer need and am happy to spend time to get to really understand what is required before we launch a new design or undertake custom design work. Having worked in such diverse sectors as automotive, aerospace and medical diagnostics, I appreciate that it's not just about having the best performance, we have to ensure we can fit seamlessly into customer's work methods to be successful. We have developed a novel sensing technology from scratch and deployed into OEM medical diagnostics, life science research and industrial diagnostic tools. Skills acquired include business model design, user needs research, development into UX and coding graphical user interfaces, mechanical design of durable testing interfaces and high volume disposable test cartridges, manufacturing design, build and management, quality system design (ISO 9001, 13485), build and operation, facilities design, build and operation. I take pride in the diverse opportunities we have built for staff including student work experience, graduate positions, permanent skilled technical positions and flexible working patterns.

I was part of the team bringing novel sensor and diagnostic technologies to market to improve the lot of diabetic patients. Taking early product concepts and delivering them ready for high volume production by providing robust design for manufacture, developing novel processing techniques and rigorous quality controls. I managed a team of engineers dedicated to ensuring the outsourced components fed seamlessly through to high volume in-house processes in a fully regulated environment for medical diagnostics. Through application of analytical and management techniques to solve real development problems, I gained a J&J Six Sigma Black Belt qualification

Within a fast moving automotive team, initially I worked to deliver custom interior components and systems to market: from simple "aesthetic critical" injection mouldings to complex integrated electronic instrument modules. With experience of many of the engineering processes, I took on roles to optimise factory efficiency and ultimately to provide business development services as part of the bid team to win new contracts.

I provided production engineering services for a high performance rubber manufacturing process, taking responsibility to deliver new products to customers from the initial quotation through to approval of parts. In addition I managed the ongoing engineering requirements including trouble shooting, technical customer support along with continuous improvement techniques and development of process technologies used
