Student Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (Suli)

As a SULI intern for the DIII-D National Fusion Facility, I completed a semester-long research project focused on validating NUBEAM, a neutral beam model, using measurements of plasma acceleration from the DIII-D Charge Exchange Recombination Spectroscopy (CER) diagnostic. I used Python to analyze the data and develop a technique to compare outputs of torque calculated by NUBEAM to measurements of plasma acceleration for several DIII-D discharges. I presented my results in an oral presentation and final report during the internship. I also presented a poster on the project at the 2023 APS DPP Annual Meeting.
