In my prior role, I provided support and advice to individuals seeking sanctuary and refugees, addressing diverse issues such as health, housing, education, and social opportunities. Many of my clients faced destitution and homelessness with no recourse to public funds. I conducted casework through drop-ins, one-on-one appointments, and remote support. This included explaining the asylum process, negotiating with agencies, researching evidence, writing support letters, and aiding with various aspects of legal support. I also provided emotional and practical support for interviews, appeals, and hearings. I was committed to ensuring individuals were informed about their rights, especially in relation to reporting and detention.
