I am a hardworking and persevering student who just started my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph. I chose to major in human kinetics for a few reasons, I have always been fascinated with the human body and I have always wanted to help people live their best life possible. It all started when I was in grade 5 and one of the projects I had to do was to trace my body and label each major organ and what it does in the body. I spent hours researching, cutting, and writing so that I could learn the most about the body, it is still one of my highlights from elementary school!When I broke my foot and had to undergo months of physiotherapy that was when I realized it was the profession for me. I found myself watching the physiotherapists every move and being fascinated by what they were doing. The thought that I could possibly help someone achieve a milestone that they never would have thought they could reach is something that I see myself doing for years as-well as it being one of the most rewarding positions possible. I have always been an excellent and kind collaborator in the things that I do. Playing high level soccer my whole life has helped me develop these skills over the course of my life. I played in the defensive line so communication and teamwork is key. I learned how to effectively communicate with others while being encouraging to help build confidence in themselves. In my job as a grocery associate at Metro I have also learned how to be a collaborator in a different setting. During my role in training new hires I had to effectively and efficiently train people on how to do everything the right way while teaching them how to be safe when handling hot food and equipment.I am always willing to take on a challenge that crosses my path and use it as an opportunity to learn and better myself!
