In this keeper position, I have upgraded the responsibilities that I had in my internship. Mainly, I am responsible for the training, husbandry, and care of the population of 0.2 California sea lions. This includes preparing daily fish diets in accordance with the USDA, maintaining basic training behaviors using operant conditioning, administering necessary medication, record keeping, and providing behavioral enrichment at least daily. Additionally, I engage with the public about sea lion natural history and care, properly maintain the habitats and exhibit area, and exhibit high levels of professionalism as well as maintain communication between the team as well as vet staff and curators. Other duties include routine testing of water quality, including salinity, chlorine, and pH levels of all sea lion areas, and adding chemicals/salt as needed.

As VPO, I served as a part of the core Executive Team and head of the Operations Team, which oversees the Director of Administration, Director of Chapter Property, Merchandise Coordinator, and Awards Coordinator. I acted as the parliamentarian at all Chapter meetings and was responsible for educating and updating the Chapter on the Governing Documents and Bylaws. As a part of this process, I was the Chair of the Bylaw Revisions Team, which included a member of each school class, and a meeting where we discussed and vetted proposed Bylaw revisions. Additionally, I oversaw the elections process, distributed officer applications, encouraged members to apply, and led the Nominating Committee, ensuring all applicants were eligible. I was also responsible for maintaining the chapter calendar, ensuring spaces are reserved and events are planned on time. Lastly, I was secretary for executive team meetings, and served as liaison between the chapter and HQ, and acted as President in the president's absence.

As Director of Philanthropy, I planned two major philanthropy events a year benefitting the Arthritis Foundation. This included reaching out to vendors, collaborating with the charity, communicating both within the chapter and to the general campus community, scheduling event dates, and directing the funds. I also provided volunteer opportunities, such as weeding local gardens and sorting stock at the food pantry to chapter members and kept track of required chapter service hours.

As Director of Ritual Education, I was responsible for planning and hosting eight to ten workshops a semester and one chapter meeting each month. In these meetings, I was responsible for educating the chapter about our inner workings, values, and functions, and how we can uphold national values in our daily lives. This was done through interactive discussions, games, presentations, and lessons regarding our Ritual. Additionally, I was in charge of monitoring the ritual behaviors of all chapter members and hosting spontaneous meetings with members who might be struggling with Ritual.

As an intern with the sea lion department, I was a part of the integral team maintaining animal welfare and guest engagement. My primary duties as an intern included preparing fish diets according to USDA guidelines, attending training and enrichment lectures given by full-time trainers, giving educational presentations to zoo guests over a microphone, maintaining and properly cleaning the AZA exhibit, and eventually maintaining basic training behaviors with two adult female California Sea Lions. Through these duties, I developed operant conditioning and positive reinforcement training skills, proper zoo operations knowledge including marine water quality, and thorough teamwork.

As a peer mentor, I served as a liaison between first-year students and the Rollins College experience. This involved planning nine programs that allowed my mentees and me to foster personal connections while showing them how to get involved and navigate campus. I also served as an example in class time, providing demonstrations and advice for challenging assignments. In this role, I also gained team-building skills, as all programming and class discussion was completed with a Co Mentor. Additionally, I worked very closely with the faculty member of the first-year seminar, cultivating ideas for the curriculum, discussing mentee concerns, and providing feedback on the class environment.

As an Intern at Austin Wildlife Rescue, I participated in wildlife husbandries, such as administering medication, feeding, and habitat maintenance. I also assisted with the training of new volunteers in foundational tasks in the mammal and songbird sectors. Additionally, I communicated observations regarding the health of our animals and observed senior staff make decisions regarding a plan of care. I also assisted with administering anesthesia. Lastly, I became experienced in the care of opossums, armadillos, squirrels, fawns, skunks, foxes, raccoons, songbirds, and birds of prey.

I managed a team of highly skilled swim instructors, creating schedules and providing workshops for instructor skill improvement. I handled employee conflicts, as well as evaluated team dependability and individual instructor performance. I dealt with public concerns and compliments, acting as a liaison from parents of swimmers to the city department. Lastly, I handled online registrations and phone calls from the community.

I worked hands-on with children of all ages on swimming techniques, using positive feedback and lesson plans to encourage maximum success. I communicated directly with parents/guardians after every lesson to update them on their child's progress, class updates, and how to improve outside of class. Classes were conducted in private, semi-private, and group environments, giving me the versatility to work with many types of kids.
