As well as expansive cell culture knowledge, my other roles include primary processing of human tissues in isolating, manufacturing and scale up of the ORBCEL™ product. This characterization involves differentiation assays, ELISAs, Mycoplasma testing, flow cytometry and lymphocyte proliferation assays. The process development team collaborates with Teurmo Quantum® which is an automated cell culture system to facilitate the large scale manufacture of ORBCEL™. Ongoing work includes optimizing the Standard Operating Procedure for Quantum expanded ORBCEL™ which will be tech transferred to UK partners when complete.The process development team also collaborates with Miltenyi Biotec in developing the MACSQuant Tyto Cell Sorter for ORBCEL™ -based therapeutic applications. Previous projects within Orbsen Therapeutics:Deputy Manager of the junior scientists involved in the development of ORBCEL-EV™. ORBCEL-EV™ are Extracellular Vesicles isolated from ORBCEL™ products. This job involved developing and optimizing the Current Standard Operating procedure for ORBCEL-EV™ and transferring the protocol to the junior scientists within Orbsen Therapeutics.Previous work included the FP7-funded project, MERLIN, which focuses on using highly purified ORBCEL™ as a therapy for liver disease. The MERLIN project investigated the molecular mechanisms of the ORBCEL™ in inflammatory diseases. I supplied the Merlin partners with technical support and ORBCEL™ product for the duration of the project.. -
