Health and Fitness Trainer at Hudson Fitness

I am currently working alongside the health and wellbeing team at Leeds Rhinos Foundation where we run TRY Club, a mens weight loss programme which I attend every week. This consists of helping with 45 minutes of nutrition about the benefits of a balanced diet and providing small techniques which the men can easily implement in their lifestyles. Then a 45 minute exercise session which can range from small rugby passing games to resistance band circuits and boxing sessions. Within the internship I also cover the education section of the foundation. Each week I go into a school with a Leeds Rhinos coach and help them to deliver sessions in primary schools in order to get all children involved and active, whether this be a PE lesson, lunch time club or after school session. The internship is providing me with numerous chances to develop my personal skills and abilities by providing workshops and extra qualifications which I can attend to extend my knowledge even further.

Communicating with prospective students and their family and friends to help them with any last minute questions they have about the course itself or University life in general and help them to answer why they should come to Leeds Beckett University!

My roles and responsibilities are to ensure the safety of the visitors to the pool/ centre and deal competently with any difficulties that may arise. Engaging and communicating with all customers in the correct manor is an important part of my role as a lifeguard, as well as working well as a team along with the other staff within the centre such as receptionists, gym staff and duty managers.
