In this role I am responsible for raising defects and snags on a system and allocating works to contractors, receiving calls from customers and responding to their emails, authorising and querying quotes from customers, recovering costs for works that have to be done not by the original contractor, looking at technical drawings and house plans, paying contractors invoices, making appointments with customers and customer care managers, dealing with customer escalations, ordering materials, managing a big workload and prioritising more urgent matters.

In this role I support freight account managers. I will look after their customers when they are out of the office and manage all requests and help with their work load when they are in the office. This will include arranging collections/deliveries, sending customers quotes and updating them on ongoing shipments. There is an aspect of sales in my role as I will offer competitive prices to customers and chase them to win the business, I will also push to get prices down. I also look after invoicing and finance queries.

In this role I was responsible for overseeing all maintenence works for all morrisons stores. I was expected to raise new jobs for any issues that the stores may have, arrange for different contractors to visit the store depending on the nature of the issue and to book engineers onto the jobs. My role is mainly phone and email based as I speak to stores, contracts and regional maintenance managers who are responsible for lots of stores in one region of the country. I am also responsible for chasing up contractors on jobs that are overdue.

From working at McDonald's I have gained various invaluable skills especially as this was my first job. It gave me a huge sense of responsibility and independence. I learnt how to work both individually and as part of a big team in a very fast paced environment. I was mainly responsible for handling cash and dealing with any customer complaints that may occur. As I became more experienced i was given more responsibility such as training new starters and building up their knowledge of the job and supporting the shift manager with their daily roles such as writing a floor plan of where staff should be positioned and keeping them motivated. I have applied these skills to my current job and to everyday life.
