The Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Center is one of the largest stem cell transplant facilities in the world, treating blood related cancers by replacing unhealthy bone marrow with healthy stem cells. As a member of the leukemia team, I am responsible for analyzing and documenting patient health from treatment history, through the transplant process, recovery, outcome and following up with patients as they stay in remission.

I was a HUC at the University Medical Center in Lubbock Tx and worked in the Emergency Center, Family Birth Center, Family Care Unit and the Neonatal ICU. I organized the documentation for the unit, managing visitors and worked closely with the charge nurse to assist in whatever the unit needed to run efficiently. My role as a HUC in each department changed to fit what that specific unit needed of me.

I was also responsible for facilitating a community, focused on student learning and student success. The complex I was assigned to had over 1200 residents who were 100% first year and 80% greek life.
