Provide direct support to 10+ intellectually and developmentally disabled adults. Monitor and assess participants’ behavioral changes. Detect and anticipate minimally verbal and nonverbal individuals’ needs.

Receive mentorship from Dr. Tara Lineweaver, professor and clinical neuropsychologist. Collaborate with other student researchers to recruit participants and conduct research. Collect and assess analytical data through SPSS software to support research project development. Published work in the Butler Journal of Undergraduate Research which investigates the similarities and differences between Alzheimer’s and Huntington’s patients’ visuospatial abilities.

Work alongside and learn from Butler University faculty and staff to coordinate community outreach events in the Indianapolis community. Manage and build relationships with Indianapolis volunteer sites including Pike High School faculty and A Caring Place staff. Direct groups of 15+ student volunteers each semester and act as the liaison for their volunteer site. Generate and deliver weekly progress reports to community site and Butler University staff.

Worked with clientele to develop professional relationships and ensure sufficient service. Managed transactions and deescalated issues in a fast-paced environment. Effectively communicated with individuals of differing English-speaking abilities.
