Emma Kent serves as the Assistant University Librarian for Access Services at Grambling State University and is the library's liaison to the Visual and Performing Arts Department. Emma has earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing from Full Sail University. She has a B.A. in Journalism and has earned two Master's degrees in Library and Information Science and Liberal Studies, respectfully, from Queens College at the City University of New York. Emma is a Certified New York State Librarian. She has earned several certificates in various continuing education courses; her most recent certificates are in, The History of Buddhism, Understanding Auras and Chakras, and Creative Writing. She is an instructor for Library Literacy and Research Techniques and has worked closely with her campus students and academic library regarding research and development. Her research interests include social media, screenwriting, and adaptations from book to film. Because of her love for visual narratives, she is working on a play. She is a former published writer for the Village Voice. Emma is an award-winning Librarian with (NFELIN) Northeast Florida Library Information Networks. She received a Continuing Education Award. In 2016, nominated by a board member as a "member" of the year for NEFLIN (Northeast Florida Library Information Networks), Emma loves learning and attending conferences. Emma has co-presented at Word Camp Conferences in Washington D.C. and Jacksonville, Florida.
