As the University Assistant Director of the South-Central Climate Adaptation Science Center, I serve as the main point of contact between our partners and researchers, and work with stakeholders on climate adaptation projects. I also serve as our Adult Education Specialist and lead climate training and education efforts for resource managers. In addition to the above, I manage the South Central CASC budget, assist the University Director, and oversee our Center’s research efforts.I performed my graduate studies in the geography department at the University of Oklahoma and held a Graduate Research Assistant position for the South Central Climate Science Center. My thesis research explored climate and land-use impacts on the transition zone between the forest ecosystem in eastern OK and the prairie ecosystem in western OK. I recently completed a second Masters Degree in Adult Education at OU to learn how to design and deliver effective and engaging trainings. I will be starting a PhD in August 2024 to continue building my career in this area of climate literacy.
