Volunteer-based adventure charity, The Telethon Adventurers, a subsidiary of Channel Seven Perth Telethon, distributes funds to the Telethon Kids Institute to further research into childhood brain cancer. Positioned as a conduit between The Telethon Adventurers Board, Channel Seven Telethon and Telethon Kids Institute I was responsible for stakeholder management, communications, marketing, financial management and reporting, event management and volunteer liaison. I established and coordinated a communication and marketing strategy working with design, print and media outlets and on website and social media platforms. I built relationships with the volunteers to support them and ensure compliance with governance - giving them the tools for fundraising success. This role included the planning and execution of annual strategic events the flagship being the extensive presence at the 24 hour televised Telethon weekend at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre in 2012 and 2013.The Telethon Adventurers, now the Pirate Ship Foundation, funds vital research into childhood brain cancer through a range of fundraising initiatives, adventures, events and partnerships. During my time in this role, more than $3 million was raised through group adventure-based fundraising activities and partnerships.
