Better Kitchens and Hooper Joinery, design and manufacture custom joinery for both the residential and commercial sectors. Residential projects range from one off furniture pieces to high end kitchens and sculleries, as well as full interior joinery fit-outs. The commercial sector involved the design and manufacturing of schools, cafes, office and retail fit-outs. My area of passion and knowledge is design and throughout my time at Hooper Joinery I have gained knowledge and experience in programming. This allowed me to see my projects through the whole process and have a hand in each area of design and manufacturing. It also gives me a greater understanding of the relationship between design and construction and the best way to approach this. This process started with engaging the client with a design and concepts to presenting them with material choices, quotes and organising the ordering of materials and sub-contractors. Once my client was happy with their design, the manufacturing would begin, with programming their custom joinery on software such as 3d Kitchens and Aspan. This is where hardware and custom detailing would be finalised. These files would be optimised for the CNC and then constructed by the joiners and installed.
