The NRECA Cyber Program provides 900 electric cooperatives with access to Education & Training, Information Sharing, Incident Support, Technology Integration & R+D. Key partnerships with industry, federal and state agencies. NRECA Research is the R + D arm of the electric cooperatives, leading over $50M of projects in Transmission and Distribution, Sensing, Data and Analytics, DER and Microgrids, Energy Affordability, Resilience and Reliability, all serving electric cooperatives directly with cutting edge capabilities.

Associate Program Leader for Defense Infrastructure, within Cyber and Infrastructure Resilience Program

Lead distribution modeling and analysis projects and high renewable penetration studies for large utility customers. Developed methodologies for quantifying high penetration of PV impacts on feeders, including transient analysis, flicker studies, voltage regulation and protection studies.Expert, and provides training packages in the use of numerous software packages including SynerGEE Electric, PSS/Sincal. PowerWorld and PSLF.Completed projects for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory regarding Combined Heat and Power generation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.Examined the dispatchability of distributed generation systems operating under the Self Generation Incentive Program

Investigated and validated various hydrogen technologies. Aided in the development of a Hydrogen Power Parks model supported by the IEA. Accurately forecasted short-term and long-term economic requirements for future value engineering of integrated power systems. Experimental work investigating lifetime and electrical properties of solid oxide fuel cells.Simulated hydrogen systems and created solutions using limited data. The simulations were to determine the effectiveness of the control strategy they were designing and make suggestions as to how it could be improved. Combated long simulation times, by analyzing system processing bottle-necks. Researched methods to decrease computing power. Prioritized on-computer and off-computer tasks and improved team efficiency at processing information.

Assisted in undergraduate electrical engineering classroom instruction and tutorials. Supervised the development of students through the written examination and follow-up instruction.
