In this role, I provide cross-functional guidance and support to the legal team and senior leaders in all departments across the full slate of scripted series, unscripted series and features during the development, production, and marketing phases of content creation across the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands and Sweden, including: - Reviewing a high volume of scripts and cuts of Amazon Original branded projects requiring quick turnaround with regard to Standards & Practices, Compliance and the Ratings that apply to all programs and movies.- Reviewing content and work with the internal and external legal teams to assess (i) legal risks associated with defamation, rights of publicity, trademark and copyright (including fair use); and (ii) brand concerns or conflicts with corporate initiatives.- Working with Production, Post-Production and Third-Party Producers to collect all legal deliverables.- Supporting all creative teams with respect to Standards & Practices, including trainings, flagging and advising legal risks, auditing annotated scripts for accuracy, escalating critical issues to relevant internal stakeholders and if local outside counsel to find solutions.- Negotiating certificate of engagement agreements for above-the-line talent (e.g. writers, consultants), turnaround agreements, option extensions and amendments to production service deals.
