My role as Operations Manager of Corner House Canterbury consists of successfully managing the operations in the site, delivering a consistent guest experience in a restaurant brand with an ethos of the simple things done well using the best in local and seasonal produce. Continuing to strengthen the brand and growing our operations manual is key to my role. With our 24 cover extension having opened in May 2022, this has seen our infrastructure tested and I’ve been working hard to ensure we continue to deliver our guest experience whilst maximising revenue in our new dining room. My aim is to build the infrastructure to be strong enough to introduce another successful restaurant to our repertoire. Having joined The Corner House in Minster in 2014, the restaurant has grown significantly. It has been published in the Michelin Guide and Waitrose Good Food Guide every year. The Minster site has also won the accolade of Kent Restaurant of the Year twice. The successful first 18 months of our second site which opened in July 2016, Corner House Canterbury, has featured in nationally recognised Guardian newspaper and has been shortlisted into the Top 4 for 2018 Kent Restaurant of the Year. Before joining the Corner House team I resided in Lancaster, after graduation from Lancaster University, and worked for Mitchells of Lancaster, a Northern based family owned pub & hotel group for 7 years.I was the General Manager of the company’s flagship pub, The Waterwitch, and was also the Area Training manager in the estate where I provided training to new management teams and supervisors.After an incredibly successful 3 years at The Waterwitch, I left Mitchell's on amicable terms to join The Corner House Restaurant in Minster, Kent as Restaurant Manager. I excel in team leadership taking a very hands on approach to developing & building a team of 25 employees. My communication skills extend to a wide audience, developing a voice within a highly experienced management team which leads the succession in company strategies & goals.
