Emma McAnaw is a Technical Direct and Project Director with over 16 years’ experience in groundwater risk assessment and contaminated land characterisation and remediation. Emma is the Service Group Manager for the Contamination Assessment and Remediation at GHD UK.Emma has specialist experience in various aspects of hydrogeology and site characterisation and remediation, including complex contaminated land site investigation and remediation design, management, and verification, risk assessment, and groundwater abstraction feasibility through to licensing. Emma Project Manages the flagship 'Assessment of PFAS and POPs emissions from landfills' multi-year project for the Environment Agency.Emma works across several market sectors including, manufacturing, power, mining, and waste.Emma provides resolutions for clients that fulfill legislation and best practice guidance, whilst providing cost-effective and innovative solutions to contaminated land concerns. Emma has experience in assisting clients from project inception, through a tiered risk-based approach, finishing with regulator liaison and performance monitoring and verification.As a proficient project manager and director, Emma has experience of managing multidisciplinary projects and complex sites, involving contaminants such as hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents. Emma provides a seamless interaction between the consultant, the client, contractors, and regulators (as required), and can provide the continuity and technical ability to facilitate this to progress projects through the complete project lifecycle.
