I am compassionate and very goal-driven, with over 5 years of experience in hospitality where I have always focused on providing people with heartfelt, comfortable, and positive experiences. Since graduating with honours from Brock University with a Bachelors of Kinesiology in 2020, I have been working hard to utilize my knowledge of human movement to improve the lives of others.I started teaching falls prevention exercise classes to seniors living in retirement facilities in 2021. I have had the opportunity to instruct large group as well as one-on-one classes, with individuals from early retirement to long term/ memory care.I have since transitioned into a role where I can still continue to do this important work teaching exercise programs to seniors, but where I can also provide care and use my skills to further enrich their lives. As Resident Engagement Manager at a retirement community, I aim to contribute to human well-being by developing and facilitating beneficial programs in a positive and inclusive environment to create meaningful and fun experiences for the residents each day.I continue to learn each day about the crucial benefits of recreation as I see the pay off of my hard work in the smiles on the residents’ faces, and have become well-versed in the stages of planning, implementing, and evaluating unique and enriching programs.
