Assisted in necropsy of seals, sea lions, and dolphins through dissecting, recording notes, subsampling, and taking photos (18 California sea lions, 1 harbor seal, 1 elephant seal, 2 Guadalupe fur seals, and 7 dolphins). Managed sample inventory, restocked the necropsy suite, necropsy inventory, and pre- and post- necropsy duties. Participated in dead animal stranding response and necropsy of pinnipeds, dolphins, and whales at PMMC and in the field. Participated in weekly volunteer animal care shifts working with seals and sea lions

Responded to live and dead marine mammals and sea turtles in Virginia. Assisted in necropsies, answering hotline calls, and completing daily animal husbandry tasks for in house sea turtle rehabilitation patients.

An immediate resource for residents of all ages, providing resources and support to those residents as well as other students. Regularly planning programs and events within the residence halls and interacting with residents on a daily basis. Works with a team of other resident assistants and residents for programming and other duties. Lead duties include administrative tasks as well as being a resource for other resident assistants.

Participated in a research study that aims to assess spatial and temporal trends in marine mammal stranding data, working with Marine Mammals of Maine and Allied Whale. Involved in entry of marine mammal data into databases, database quality control and analysis of patterns in the data being entered. Involved working with FileMaker and Excel.

Currently tutoring Marine Ecology. Prior tutoring experience includes introductory marine science courses and general chemistry.

Worked as a part of the Western Passage Tidal Energy Project. Participated in team research project that aims to assess impacts of tidal turbine deployment on marine mammals and other species of interest. Demonstrated ability to conduct independent field work, specifically using equipment such as Big Eye binoculars to observe and identify marine mammals in the Western Passage. Ensured accurate recording of the sightings using bearing, group size and species, distance from shore and environmental conditions. Participated in a hydroacoustic survey and zooplankton sampling. In collaboration with the Dr. Gayle Zydlewski.

Aided in day-to-day animal care tasks, performed necropsies, out reach, and responded to live and dead animals in the field.
