During summer 2023 I participated in a virtual exchange program which focused on biomedical equipment design for low resource settings. Through this annual program students from the University of Nairobi and UC Berkeley are challenged to come up with a solution to a need faced by hospitals in low-resource settings under the guidance of trained Engineering World Health facilitators. The program covered concepts for biomedical design, collaboration, ethics, and entrepreneurship as these topics relate to engineering for low-resource environments. I worked independently through self-directed learning modules, and I collaborated with my designated project group during virtual workshops to exchange knowledge and further develop our design ideas. My group's final project incorporated a newly organized website design which functions as a database to provide hospitals in low resource areas with maintenance manuals essential to repairing donated equipment, which often arrives broken or damaged.

This summer I worked in Dr. Pratik Mukherjee's lab, which focuses on traumatic brain injury research. My main involvement was in the SPIN Study, which is working towards standardizing an assessment for diagnosing sensory processing disorders, particularly in adolescents. After Summer 2022, I am continuing my affiliation with UCSF by volunteering as a certified safety-second for MRI scans, data from which is being used for the SPIN Study.

Throughout high school I tutored students in Geometry, Physics, Chemistry, Algebra, Calculus, and religion.
