I am a senior at the Ohio State University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management and Systems. I have always known that I wanted to be in the healthcare field, but I wanted to work in an industry where my skills would be utilized the best. I found that in the HIM program. My experience in the HIM field includes working in patient registration and referrals at Ohio ENT and Allergy, where I gained experience in both processing and scheduling systems. These experiences have allowed me to grow my adaptability and data analysis skills as I worked with multiple systems to ensure efficient and precise processing. Additionally, I served as the Fundraising Chair for the HIM cohort of 2024. This has allowed me to grow in my communication skills, as well as my overall understanding of the industry.This spring I will be participating in a professional practice experience at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in the Health System Informatics department.I am from Columbus, Ohio where I enjoy horseback riding, hiking with my dogs, and learning to cook. I am excited to find a position after graduation that allows me to apply skills and techniques that I have learned in my undergraduate career.
