I'm Emma Wright. I am a fashion hand-knit and crochet designer from Sheffield, Yorkshire with a love of colour and a passion for British wool and craft. I have always been creative and was taught to knit the traditional way, by my nan when I was a little girl. After taking fashion and textiles at college I pursued my love for knitwear at Nottingham Trent University graduating with my collection Everything stops for tea in June 2014. My collection was manufactured by hand, by myself using 100% British wool and fabrics, I was also lucky enough to receive sponsorship from Rowan Yarns, Erika Knight and Laxtons. At the end of my final year I was nominated for a textile award at graduate fashion week and won the Loveknitting.com competition Britain's next top knitwear designer which has lead to many wonderful collaborations and knitty projects. I now work regularly with many of the major knit and crochet magazines as well as designing for some of the industry's most wonderful designers and spinners. My little studio over flowing with yarn is based at my grandparents house in Sheffield, I spend most days tucked away designing, knitting and drinking lots of tea.
