This mainstream school has a Total Communication unit integrated into it. The staff all work closely together to provide the best 1:1 support for D/deaf students whom have a range of different needs. The children will work in the classroom with their hearing peers or will be given extra support/to work with their deaf peers in the unit. The whole school works on improving deaf awareness with the teachers and support staff as well as children all being offered the chance to learn sign language and achieve BSL level 1.
