In the winter of 2013, I accepted a position with The Walt Disney Company through a college internship. Not only did I get to skip a Wisconsin winter, but I had the opportunity to work at one of my favorite places in the world. Since returning home, my work at Disney World has been one of the biggest conversation starters, and I love talking about my experiences while living and working at “the happiest place on earth”. I worked in retail at Animal Kingdom, but it was so much more than just selling Mickey Mouse ears. Surrounded by people who had the same exuberance and love of life as me was an unparalleled experience. I learned more about acceptance, kindness, respect, and making the most out of every situation. The takeaways from my short adventure are numerous. I came back ready to put that same enthusiasm into whatever job I took on next…and I did. Later on, in my quest through life, I would be offered a position with Mosaic 360 as an Executive Assistant/Office Manager. This position gives me the ability to be creative, and work in a fast paced environment, on numerous different tasks. As the case was at Disney World, at Mosaic I am kept busy, and I have to keep on my toes with an ever changing task list. I never knew that there was the possibility to express myself, and be so entertained, with an office job, but I love it! Though I miss the excitement of being a Cast Member at Disney World quite often, I am always sure to bring my Disney attitude to work, and make every day as magical as possible.
