• Lead on high profile policy projects to modernise the regulatory framework for solicitors and law firms including reforming consumer protection arrangements and new standards and regulations aimed at liberalising the legal service market • Responsible for the SRA’s innovation programme including managing separate funding from the BEIS Regulators’ Pioneer Fund• Responsible for the Legal Access Challenge a project aimed at accelerating AI-driven solutions to help people access justice and inform an adaptive regulatory approach to adoption of LawTech in the market• Manage SRA’s strategic relationship with professional indemnity insurers

• Responsible for the development and implementation Ofqual’s regulatory strategy. • Champion, drive and enforce the principles of Ofqual’s regulatory strategy in its implementation into regulatory practice. • Develop Ofqual’s risk framework to provide a single process for managing all dimensions of risk – systemic; entity; qualification and corporate. • Promote and maintain a coherent understanding and management of risk.• Ensure that Ofqual takes a risk-based approach to regulation of awarding organisations and qualifications.• Identify, evaluate and manage systemic risk across awarding organisations and in the wider qualification system, on behalf of the organisation. • Provide specialist advice and thought leadership to the Board, Executive Team and Multi-Disciplinary Teams on all matters related to economic and market impact of regulatory activity, including pricing, competition, Awarding Organisations financial stability.• Work with the Standards and Research Chairs to provide thought leadership on the implementation of regulatory strategy. • Provide foresight and strategic planning to inform the Chief Regulator in setting the direction of the organisation• Leading a team of up to fifteen staff

• Providing advice to the Ofwat Board on the appropriate cost of capital for the water companies particularly in respect of the assumptions underpinning companies' price limits. Also advice on whether companies' revenues and cashflows are adequate such that if they behave efficiently they remain able to access the debt and equity capital markets• Presenting Ofwat's approach to financial issues to a wide range of stakeholders including the industry, investors and other financial players including the credit rating agencies.• Developing policy in relation to companies’ financial structures including consideration of how innovative structures may impact on risk sharing between investors, companies and whether customers are adequately protected.• Establishing relationships with the investment community (particularly debt and equity investors and the credit rating agencies) and to use the understanding of the financial markets gained to develop regulatory methodology and practice. • Managing the regulatory implications of merger and acquisition activity involving water companies including interfaces with the Office of Fair Trading and the Competition Commission• Developing Ofwat's policy on mergers between water companies• Monitoring companies compliance with obligations under their licence conditions• Managing three staff
