I lead the MA Design Management programme at Coventry University and act as Link Tutor for a parallel course at Raffles College of Higher Education in Singapore, which I launched in 2019. The student satisfaction scores for MA Design Management have increased year-on-year since I took over as Course Director in 2018, now sitting at 100% satisfaction in the national PTES survey 2021-22. I supervise three start dates and around 40 students per annum. The course covers subjects such as design thinking, design cultures, UX, and project management.I have interdisciplinary research interests in consumer culture, design for ageing, and student support. Much of my work is around user experience and the social relations between people, objects, and environments. I have led research projects on the secondhand (hand-me-down) economies of children's things (with parenting charity NCT), doctoral student support, and older people's experiences of supermarket shopping (with Sainsbury's supermarket). Over the last 10+ years I been a keen advocate for ethical fashion through my own blogs, organised events and working as a freelance copywriter and brand consultant. I have a PhD in Human Geography, two degrees in Fashion/Design Management, and an MA in Higher Education.
