I sometimes joke that I was born with a pencil in my hand, but honestly, it is true. Ever since I was young I could always be seen with paper and a pencil, drawing as much as possible. Drawing brought me joy and was my safe space for many years. I knew I wanted to be in the field of art, however, the field is so vast I did not know where to begin. It was not until I was 12 when my sister asked me how to draw a dog did I know what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to become an art teacher and share my knowledge with others and help them create their own safe space through art.I graduated with an Associates in Art from Mendocino college in the Spring of 2020 and am currently working on my Bachelors in Studio art and Minor in Education from San Francisco State University. As I started pursuing my career as an art teacher I gained several hands-on experiences. - At the Middletown Art Center I taught multiple classes with students from ages 5-18.- Created my own curriculums for both online and in person.- At Harvey Milk's Civil Rights Academy I'm currently tutoring a 3rd-grade class and making student-driven art activities. For me, art has always been my safe place and something I want to share with others.
