As a kid, I would always enjoy getting sick, not because I got to skip school, but because when we stopped to get my medicine I got to pick out a new puzzle. I love puzzles; any kind of puzzle. I find them fun and challenging. I think this attribute is what has led me to pursue a career in research and method development.Research is unbelievable frustrating at times. There are times I leave the lab feeling lucky that I ended up back where I had started for the day. But then there are the days that go well. The experiment that provides that last puzzle piece to the mystery; the proverbial lightbulb clicking on. I love to sit in front of an instrument all day long and make injection after injection, tweaking small parameters trying to get the method just right or finding out what went wrong. Sounds weird right? I know. Not a lot of people enjoy doing what I do. For me, there is nothing more satisfying than developing a process that actually works.
