I co-founded The Moldova Project in 2008 and was the Chair of Trustees until 2021. The Moldova Project supports families in Europe's poorest country to overcome challenges so they can build sustainable livelihoods and are not forced to put their children into orphanages due to poverty. The organisation started as a small fundraising initiative but grew significantly during my time as Chair - in 2019, income exceeded £100k for the first time.I had overall responsibility for co-ordinating all board activities and engagement and ensured strong governance and financial management processes were in place. I also led the development of the organisational strategy, including by enabling an exciting strategic shift which saw the management of the organisation handed over to colleagues and a board in Moldova at the end of 2021 as a result of the strength of the organisation we have built.

I worked across the major donor, trust and corporate teams to drive growth in priority areas, including unrestricted funding, emergency appeals and supporting the team to fill funding gaps. I developed proposals which raised £2.5 million and managed a portfolio of grants worth £800k. Working with colleagues across Africa, Asia and Latin America, I developed compelling and strategic proposals, with the aim of raising sustainable funding for ActionAid's highly effective humanitarian and development work with women and girls around the world.

Safe Passage helps refugee children access legal routes to safety. I created and managed a portfolio of grants and donations worth over £1m, leading on every stage from prospecting through to securing gifts and managing donor relationships. I devised and managed internal processes related to fundraising, including systems to identify funding needs, track income, evaluate project progress and report to multiple donors and funders.

Lumos aims to end the institutionalisation of children globally, supporting families and communities to put systems in place which enable children to be looked after at home. I worked with colleagues in Eastern Europe and Latin America to develop highly technical proposals to secure significant grants. As a member of the first Grants team, I fed into the development of the pipeline and strategy and created a reporting structure.

As the sole fundraiser for a charity with a £750k turnover I worked closely with the CEO to plan and implement an ambitious fundraising strategy. I wrote high-quality proposals which raised multiple five and six-figure donations, including a multi-year £400k grant. I managed relationships with funders and donors, created a system for recording and reporting on grants and came up with creative initiatives to generate income from new audiences, including a raffle and a crowdfunding campaign.
