I am currently working as an assistant to a Partner in the Personal Injury Department at our Fornham St Martin, Bury St Edmunds office. Duties include all secretary duties and some paralegal/fee earning work. Digital dictation, diary management, dealing with clients both in person and on the telephone. I also take telephone calls for an injury referral scheme and pass details on to firms included in the scheme for free half hour appointments. The Partner for whom I work is happy to give me responsibility for the work that I did, which includes management of the work level and contact with clients. I have recently attended an SRA Accredited training session run by Brain Injury Group - "Working together - the role of the case manager and case management input - the costs involved"I have previously worked for Partners in the Commercial Business and Commercial Property departments. I have also worked in the Matrimonial and Residential Conveyancing departments, Managing Partner and a Legal Executive as a senior legal secretary in the Private Client department. This included dealing with post each morning, digital dictation, diary management, dealing with clients both in person and on the telephone.I have previously prepared draft documents, including Lasting Powers of Attorney, which is time recorded. Also help out with dictation for other departments within the firm including Commercial Property, Private Client, Family. This includes departments at our other offices via the firm’s digital dictation system.
