As a senior at Indiana University Bloomington, I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in the School of Public Health with a major in Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management, with a focus on Event Production & Management. In addition to this, I am also pursuing an Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Minor in the Kelly School of Business. During my time at Indiana University I have been actively involved in Indiana University Dance Marathon on the Corporate Relations Committee. IU Dance Marathon is the world's second-largest student-run philanthropy organization, and we work to raise money for Riley Hospital for Children. The past two years I have taken on a chair position on the committee; this has provided me with a positive opportunity to give back to others and make a difference while also further developing my leadership and team-building skills. For the past eight years, I have been employed within the Hospitality and Customer Service industry in various positions. I have assumed the role of a busser, hostess, restaurant server, and event catering server. These experiences have allowed me to learn the vital skills necessary for a successful career in this industry. I have acquired the skills of problem-solving and adaptability through encountering unexpected situations and making the most out of them. I have also learned how to effectively work as a team with my other employees and contribute to a positive and friendly work environment.I have been employed at Fitzgerald Hospitality Group for the past six years. In addition to being a catering server and catering event manager, I have also gained experience working as a floral assistant, wedding coordinator, and bartender; this company has allowed me the opportunity to become a well-rounded employee in the Hospitality Industry.
