As a Graduate Sustainability Fellow at The Evergreen State College, I worked with the College's Director of Sustainability on a number of projects relating to campus sustainability, decarbonization, and environmental research.In this position, I assisted The Evergreen State College with the completion of a Sustainability Tracking Assessment and Rating System (STARS) report through the Association of Advancement for Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). I gathered data on campus sustainability metrics such as the number of sustainability-inclusive courses in the academic program, entered data into the online tracking system used for STARS reporting, and verified accuracy of our reported results.One of my most significant accomplishments in this position was co-authoring a grant application to the Clean Energy Committee, a student-led sustainability committee at The Evergreen State College, for nearly $260,000 of funding for a new solar photovoltaic array (approximately 90 megawatts total capacity) to be installed on Evergreen's Olympia campus.
